Wayne Allen Coyle
DOB: July 16, 1960 Portland, Oregon
Now living in Boise, Idaho

In 1967 I started playing guitar at age 7. My father gave me his father's guitar, an old "Stella". I banged around on that until around 1969-70 when I started to play the violin. I had years of private lessons and played at various solo festivals. I also played French horn in high school. My first Pro gig was in 1973 in a band called "Odyssey". Around this time I started writing songs. We played a lot of school, and church dance's. My next band, "Midnight Sun", was started in high school and lasted until 1980. Our "claim to fame" was that we won a Battle of the Bands contest in 1979 that was hosted by Wolfman Jack. Part of our prize was some studio time in a then state of the art 8-Track studio. From those tapes we were able to get some local airplay on KBBK 92FM. A tune I wrote called "Stormout" got heavy rotation during the late summer of 1979, and was #2 in requests to "My Sharonna"
Here is a summary of stuff I've done since 1980.
1980-'81---- In a heavy metal band called "Rampage". Opened for Black Oak Arkansas, My first road trip.
1981-'82---- I worked as a single playing guitar, piano, and singing in places like: Pengilly's, Tom Graineys, The Gin Mill, and The Irongate Lounge.
1982--- I recorded and released my first solo album "Portrait" on which I played everything except the drums.
1982-'86---- Started band "Ocean" with Jeff Tauge. Toured Northwest, Midwest, and Canada. We had a regional Miller Beer sponsorship. More radio airplay. Extremely popular band.
1986-'89---- I moved to Seattle, Washington to play in a duo with ex-Ocean bass player Pat Pulliam.
1989-'91---- Joined "Justin Sayne". Toured extensively. Release an album in 1991 called "Big Tools". Played a lot in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada.
1991-'92--- Started band called "The Powercats" We toured some. 1992-'93--- Joined country band "Redstone" Playing Keyboards, Guitar and Fiddle.
1993-Present---- Joined The Rocci Johnson Band The house band at Hummpin' Hannah's.

Through it all I've continued writing and recording demos for an upcoming album to be released sometime in 2003.
