WINNER OF WEEK
150 electronic:

Guardian Angel by PASCO

by: Scott Hill and Patric Bakkenist

Pasco bio:

Pasco are: Scott Hill, Patric Bakkenist and Khalid Ramzi.
I reviewed an amazing track by Patric Bakkenist on GarageBand.com, 'Chants Resonique' & it blew my mind...At the same time, Patric was reviewing one of my trax & his comments overwhelmed me...After some chats we decided to unite our musical creativity to create "PASCO"...A band bourne by the Winds of Garageband.com! About four months later our debut album 'Guardian Angel' was finished and we encountered the brilliant architect/graphic designer Khalid who was very impressed by the music we made. He started to draw pictures, inspired by our music and we where blown away. So now we have three Pasco team members and a second album coming. This album will be the sequel to Guardian Angel and comes in two versions. One version will be mixed in 5.1 DVD Audio format to play on a home cinema setup and the second version will be a mix of the 5.1 version to play in any regular device.

Scott's bio:

Scott's work has been featured on TV around the world. With credits including programmes on BBC, CNN, ITV, Eurosport & Granada TV, his unique compositions have featured on other film & TV productions in Germany, France, Spain, Japan, Australia, South Africa & Canada. Companies like KLM, Foster's Lager, Allied Bakeries, John Smith's Bitter, Jordan F1, ITV.com, etc...have commissioned Scott to compose specifically for them. As a founder member of the band ESP & a composer/ producer at ESP Records, Scott developed his skills playing live & recording with some of London's top musicians & producers (like Johnny Dollar - Massive Attack & Nene Cherry and Phil Tennant - Water Boys & Saw Doctors). With 15 albums recorded, each LP explores new musical realms of sound & space...

Patric's bio:

The musical history of my life started in the reggae band So What!. Many numbers we've played were covers of pop songs wich we transformed into reggae style. The most succesfull songs were: Fire from the Pointer Sisters and Losing my religion from R.E.M. (1986 - 1987) I had the urgent need to create my own songs instead of endlessly playing existing works and left the band before I had a nervous breakdown. Then 'a friend for life' came along with the same need and a bass guitar. Robin and I started to write songs and lyrics and before we knew it we were performing them in the rock formation The Unknown. After ten nervous breakdowns a week we decided to break up after a few years. These were probably the best years of my live. Another friend and excellent musician/songwriter is Jeroen. The music and lyrics were so beautiful that you cannot listen to them without getting emotional. We were real close and he was so natural born for music that I wish that I could go back into time and never come back no more.. After doing a couple of auditions in ex(orc)isting bands I started to build my own studio, because a studio does not argue about how, when or why I should or should'nt do this or that. That is a great relief, I now have only 20 nervous breakdowns a day!!! Then I ran into the producer/songwriter Lesly Laverman. This man expanded my vision in songwriting, arranging and producing. He is my best friend and I am his annoying questionmark!#@? During this period I co-produced the boysband WHAT NEXT! The executive was the highly talented and dedicated Milene. We realy came a long way and never unrewarded. I'm sure we'll write together again someday maybe soon. And of course, I love you too. Then Robin (The Unknown) called to tell me about this rockband 'Never Again!'. I was soon introduced to the Boyz and we recorded 7 songs in one weekend in a studio in Kampen/the Netherlands. Unlimited breakdowns of course, but heee, The results were great! Rear view mirror is the new electronic album featuring music with diverse musicians and technicians i have collaborated with recently. Award winning tracks Attitude X and Chants Resonique are included. Somewhere in the creation process i was very lucky to have crossed the tunes of keyboard wizard Scott Hill from the UK. We started to compose together, using originality & experimentation as our guidelines. The files swirled over the internet as well as the styles in our music. We are very proud of the results and decided to place them on this album. We are also very happy to announce that we have recently RELEASED a new album "Guardian Angel" which is available now! So here we are... Updated and ready to go... 'Life is always changing, Be like water, my friend...'
