Every
week we have 10 artists on Compo-10.
They rank each other and the ones who have been ranked best will get listed
on the station. The winner of each week's competition gets to join a final
that will be held after there has been 10 competitions. The 10 winners
will rank each other in the final. Check
out the winners
of the previous contests . Enjoy
a selection made by fellow artists...
Want
your music to be heard?
Want your music to get ranked?
Then join the competition on the ORIGINAL COMPO-10.
Check out the instructions (in seventeen languages) at the bottom of this
page. As the rankings are done by the artists themselves, the outcome of
the voting won't depend on how many friends the artists have.
During weeks 101 - 110 the contest will feature only songs of the same genre
during a certain week ( pop, rock, jazz, electronic etc.) The songs can
be from any Internet site where they are easily downloadable/streamable.
Submit 1 of
your songs to the Compo-10. When it's your turn (when your song is listed
on the page), you'll be contacted by e-mail, and you should answer that
mail to confirm that you are around and prepared to send in your rankings.
When it's time to send in the rankings, you exclude your own tune and
put the other songs in order starting from the one you like best (#1)
and ending with the one you like the least (#9). The song with the smallest
mean is the winner. If you don't send in your rankings you will be excluded
from the competition.
If you want
to join the Compo-10,
us now and
tell us your artist name, the song you want to submit and your homepage
address!

WINNER
OF WEEK 117 Pop/Rock:
"Resque
Me" by
DRIVE!
Artist
Information:
Drive
clawed their way onto the Brisbane music scene in 1999. The
boys racked up a number shows at a multitude of venues in
and around Brisbane. Theyve played a slot at the Rapid
festival, had a song featured in a short-film, that was screened
at the Short Crap Film Festival, and released
their first EP Plastic.
Like
the afore mentioned mythical creature, Drive have re-emerged
from their brief hiatus at the end of 2002.
Re-invigorated
and re-vamped, the two original Drivers, Matt Jones (lead
guitar, vocals) and Jason Williams (vocals), have been joined
by Simon Cutts (drums), Jamie Carruthers (guitar) and Scott
Vanderbyl (bass). This new line-up is already reaping the
rewards from the strong platform that was laid by the first
Drive team.
The
Drive sound is a sum of its parts, from the varied influences
and experiences of its members. From guitar churning rock,
to pop, to country tinged tunes, Drives flexibility
in their songwriting is their strength.
It
is not uncommon to see the boys from Drive in or around the
Brisbane venues, as they are firm believers in putting something
back into the local Brisbane scene. They are fanatical supporters
of the Brispop movement and are keen to see it develop into
a recognised, landmark scene. To help achieve this Drive formed
their own music company, My Sister Sally Music. The Company
currently runs the popular Pop Factory gigs on
the first Sunday of every month @ Reefos in Fortitude Valley.
So,
where are Drive going?
We
dont really know, but you should come along for the
ride. Its going to be a blast.

Winner of
the 11:th Final
November
Moon
by Lindsay Wynn
This
singer/songwriter is making her presence felt in South Florida in addition
to creating a buzz throughout the music industry. Involved in music all
of her life, this talented and sensual artist has drawn from widespread
influences (everything from Fiona Apple to Ella Fitzgerald to The Grateful
Dead) to create a new sound which is both unique and hauntingly unforgettable.
Not just another pretty face, this accomplished pianist and guitarist
has teamed up with writer/producer Pete Masitti (Hootie and the Blowfish,
Julio Iglesias Jr.) to create her debut EP (to be released December 2003)
as a precursor to her full length album. Keeping the emphasis on delivering
stirring live performances, Lindsay continues to excite and enamor audiences
at each and every show.
